We are pleased to announce the launch of a new program that allows community members and friends to support Connecticut Opera by making online purchases through CT Nonprofits ePlaza, a Web site created in conjunction with the CT Association of Nonprofits (CT Nonprofits), Fundlink LLC, and over 1,300 major retailers.

Popular consumer and business merchants such as Target®, Macy’s®, Best Buy®, Dell®, and Staples®, and web based giants such as Expedia®, along with 1,300 other retailers have joined in helping local nonprofit organizations by designating a portion of their online proceeds. You shop, and they give a donation!

CT Nonprofits ePlaza works like any other online shopping vehicle except now Connecticut Opera benefits from the experience. After entering CT Nonprofits ePlaza and selecting an online retailer to visit, you will be asked to designate Connecticut Opera as the organization that will benefit from your shopping experience. Once the designation is made, you will be sent directly to the retailer of your choice to start shopping. It takes just one extra step when shopping online for Connecticut Opera to earn contributions.

Each week, thousands of consumers are purchasing business, household and personal items on the Internet. These same people now have a way to contribute to Connecticut Opera by making these purchases through CT Nonprofits ePlaza. Using the bookmark feature:
The best way to visit and browse CT Nonprofits ePlaza is to bookmark the site (URL) or place it in your favorite’s folders in your Internet browser.

How to shop:
The mall map is in the center of the page. The sidebars on the left and right of the screen list some Featured category merchants. Below the mall map is the Shop by Category feature where every merchant in CT Nonprofits ePlaza is described and can be browsed. Also, you can Search for a Category or Merchant, which is located at the top of the page just below the Banner.

• First, choose a store, either by clicking on it in the Mall Map or by using the Search function.
• Next, select a beneficiary from the drop down menu that appears after selecting your store.
• Then, shop!

Other information/FAQ:
• Upon returning to this mall, your previously chosen or recent beneficiaries are displayed. You can choose one or select another from the choices at the mall. You can use the “Back” button at the top left corner of the browser screen to return to the mall and choose another merchant and pick from your recent beneficiary(s) (refresh the browser if you want to see recent beneficiaries from this browser session) or choose a different one.
• When you are finished, remember to bookmark the mall for future use, if you did not already. On the top of the left sidebar is a place to do this.
• Next time you enter CT Nonprofits ePlaza a list of your previous beneficiaries will appear. Recent merchants visited are also displayed on the top of the right sidebar.
• Every store listed on CT Nonprofits ePlaza has guaranteed the same prices as if a shopper went directly to their Web site. When consumers visit the mall, they are not sent to a reseller, they are sent to the merchant’s Web site.
• Each merchant is responsible for the transactions and delivery of the gifts and merchandise ordered.
• Upon check-out, the merchant makes a contribution in the form of a royalty to the organization that you designated.
• Contributions are made by the merchants and are not tax deductible for the shopper.
